| ROSERAIE DE L'HAY Hybrid Rugosa (Cochet-Cochet 1901) This has to be among my favorite rugosa roses! The color alone not to mention the fragrance will knock your socks off. The long, elegant buds open into large double blooms born in clusters of deep intense burgundy/crimson. The foliage is deep green and crinkled. Repeats well but alas it sets no hips in fall; a shortcomming that can be overlooked for sure. Large, vigorous bush of 5' x 5'. A wonderful partner for Blanc double de Coubert for contrast. |
