Veilchenblau
Multiflora Rambler(1909)
The veil of blue" or "blue rambler" is a most unique coloured rose any way you look at it. A very vigorous rambler
with hugh clusters of small(1.5"), semi-double, cupped blossoms on short stems. The flowers first open a deep violet,
petals streaked with white and inner petals also white. The prominent golden stamens adds to its beauty. As the
blossoms age the colour turns into the most wonderful mulled blue. The old & new blooms together produce a very
striking site. The foliage is nothing to write home about as it looks somewhat like blackberry leaves and not rose leaves
at all. It's healthy though; no diseases seem to effect it much. As with most ramblers it has a blooming period once with
great profusion in mid June. Hardy to zone 4b
